  • Central Air Conditioning

When you want to cool your whole home, a central air conditioning system is ideal.  It can be bolted right on to your forced air furnace or be connected directly to your home's existing ductwork.  Our brands come with a best-in-the-industry parts warranty and optional labor warranties.  Central air conditioning systems require routine maintenance just like a furnace, and you should plan on booking a full service maintenance at least once per year.

  • Heat Pumps

In Central Pennsylvania a heat pump is an excellent way to heat and cool your home using the same system.  While heat pumps are a little different than a traditional furnace and central air conditioning system, they require similar maintenance.  We are able to make sure your heat pump is clean and operating correctly.  If you ever have any questions about how a heat pump works or if you'd like to know how efficiently the new models can run, reach out to us today.

  • Geothermal Heatpumps

Similar to traditional heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps transfer heat either into or out of the house based on the season, but instead of transfering heat to and from the outside air, geothermal heat pumps use heat from the ground.  Curious if this energy efficient option may be for you?  Reach out to us today.

  • Ductless Mini Split Heat Pumps

Many Central Pennsylvania homes were without ductwork because they were designed to be heated with electric or hydronic baseboards or radiators during a time when air conditioning was a luxury reserved for the ultra-rich.  Today, the cost of air conditioning has come down to the point that most homeowners can afford it, but without ductwork to transport the cooled air into every room of your home, the cost and disruption of adding a traditional system is not always worth the  reward.  This is the main reason many people choose ductless systems.  Ductless heat pumps are designed to cool individual rooms or sections of the home.  They are installed with minimal disruption to the home and are extremely energy efficient.  If you are considering a ductless mini split heat pump system to warm or cool your home, you owe yourself to have a conversation with one of our experts.

  • Gas & Oil Heat

Gas and oil furnaces and boilers have been heating our homes and offices for generations.  We know what it takes to keep these systems clean and operating as efficiently as they can.  If you're curious how much you can save in fuel costs by updating or upgrading your system, let us know because we can let you know.

  • Indoor Air Quality

How much time do you spend indoors? Is the air you breath as clean as it could be? The air inside your home can become polluted for any number of reasons including tobacco smoke, fireplaces, outside conditions such as the spraying of pesticides or the treatment of farmlands, cooking and food odors, and much more. We would love to help you evaluate the condition of your indoor air and offer suggestions and tools to improve it.

  • Water Heaters

Your water heater is often not on the forefront of your mind, but it is one of your home's major mechanical systems.  You should be sure to maintain it each year to keep it clean and running efficiently.  If your water heater is more than ten years old, it may be time to consider replacing your water heater.  Contact us for details on the great models we offer.

  • Maintenance Agreements

We believe it is very important to keep your mechanical systems properly maintained simply because properly maintained systems break down less often and cost a lot less to operate.  We recommend that each of your systems is looked at and thoroughly cleaned by a professional at least once per year.  We offer a variety of maintenance plans that can make this service easy and affordable.  We have designed our plans to be auto-renewing so you never have to worry about not having coverage.  Our low monthly rates are easily affordable for most family budgets.

Here in Lebanon County, our winters can be mild and comfortable, or they can be bitterly cold. When the temperature drops, there are things you can do to less the weather’s impact on your energy bill. Let the Sun In If you are blessed with a lot of windows in your home, considering pulling back the shades on the windows that face the sun during the cold winter days. This will allow as much light as possible into your home and can help warm your interior space during the daytime hours. While maybe not enough to eliminate the need for central heat, it can help relieve some of the strain on your furnace or heat pump. Consider Adding Space Heaters If you are like many people, your daily activities are limited to certain areas of your home. It may not make sense to fully heat your whole home when you are only using portions of it. Depending on your lifestyle and the layout of our home, you may be able to lower the thermostat and supplement the heating system in the rooms you occupy most with electric space heaters. When used properly, space heaters can be a safe and efficient way to take the chill off on cold winter nights. Dig out the Sweatshirts and Fuzzy Slippers If you like to get comfortable in a pair of warm slippers and a sweatshirt, cold winter days are perfect for you. Warm clothes will allow you to turn the thermostat down a few degrees while remaining comfortable. Close Your Chimney Flue When Not in Use Snuggling up close to a warm fireplace is wonderful in the winter, but a fireplace chimney that is designed to keep your home safe and smoke free can wreak havoc on your heat bill during the winter. Remember heat rises, so keep your flue closed when your fireplace is not in use. This will help keep the warm air from your heating system inside the house. Make Sure Your Furnace Filter is Clean Furnace filters have one job – filter out dirt and particulates from the air that flows through your furnace. Over time, filters get dirty and clogged. Clogged filters make your furnace work harder and use more energy. Do not waste energy unnecessarily. Change your furnace filter every 1 to 3 months. Lower the Temperature When You Are Not Home While the debate lingers as to what is the most energy efficient indoor temperature, we know that your furnace does not use energy when it is not running. Drop the temperature a few degrees when you leave for the day and warm it back up when you return. Your furnace will work less to maintain that lower temperature, and you will use less energy. Keeping your home in the low 60s is great for this type of thing. It is cooler, but not so cold that it takes a long time to warm back up. Keep your Furnace Properly Maintained We sometimes think this should go without saying, but we will say it anyway: a properly maintained system uses less energy than a dirty system that is not operating to its fullest potential. Call us at ECS Comfort Heating & Cooling to book your preventative maintenance appointment. It is never too late to clean your furnace.
